  • Double Rainbow

Double Rainbow is a sensory spectacle combining two exhibitions. Tiffany Singh’s installation, subtitled Preserve, aims to elicit community exchange. The work will begin as an installation comprised of colour, rice, spices and handmade wax works. After one week a gallery dinner honouring Diwali will launch a participatory stage for the work, whereby visitors will be able to trade installation components for sustainable gifts.

Preserve-making workshops involving a cross-section of the community will be held in the gallery during the exhibition, followed by exchange and gifting of the wares produced. Adjacent to Singh’s work, Tessa Laird’s poster installation, subtitled Post-Post-Poster, will be a visual mélange of repeated nostalgic imagery printed as colourful posters using screenprint and woodblock techniques.

    Diwali dinner: 26 October

Workshops: 27 October to 15 November, gallery hours.

Floor talks and discussions: 15 and 27 October

Community classes: During gallery hours throughout the exhibition at times to be advertised. Contact the gallery for more information.

A Diwali dinner for the local community and friends will mark the start of an interactive stage for Tiffany Singh’s installation. After this preserve-making workshops involving a cross-section of the community will be held in the gallery, followed by exchange and gifting of the wares produced. Tessa Laird’s work also aims to generate participation – through poster-making workshops based on the ideas in both artists’ shows.
