This Avondale based festival will be focused on showcasing, celebrating and activating the creative diversity that exists within the Whau local board area. The Whau the People Arts Festival will be a diverse array of workshops, exhibitions, performances, talks and family-focused events.
Whau the People is an Avondale based interdisciplinary arts collective focused on creating opportunities for local artists and residents to engage and participate in the arts within their community. Whau the People are: Janet Lilo (Artist), Leilani Tamu (Poet), Bronwyn Bent (Theatre Maker), Jody Mcmillan (Artist) and Sam Morrison (Artist).
