  • Back to the Future

Through their sculptural works, John Ioane and Lonnie Hutchinson have created an idyllic setting providing a stage for Pacific performers from all walks of life.

Approaching Matiatia wharf John Ioane’s shoreline sculptures of Tangaroa greet you, beyond that is Lonnie Hutchinson’s hand made star mound measuring 10 meters at its widest point, based on ancient stone structures found in Savai’i.

Join us for an evening of diverse performance with over an hour of items on and around both the Star (mound) and the Tangaroas including poetry, dance, chanting and singing which acknowlede the ancient stories imbued in these sculptures.

Performers include John Ioane with Numa Mackenzie, Daren Kamali, Rev Mua Strickson-Pua, Siliga David Setoga, and members of the SaVAge K’lub including Reina Sutton.
