• Call For Applications: Tautai Arts Administrator Role


    Artists are the focus of Tautai.


    We deliver an extensive program that provides arts practitioners (from secondary school age through to senior and established artists) with a range of support, including – professional development opportunities, media and promotional support and advice and up-to-date access to news and events. 


    We are now seeking a very special person to join our team as an Arts Administrator. 


    The Tautai Arts Administrator will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the Tautai office as well as administrative support to artists.


    This is a full-time position and requires someone proactive and outgoing with excellent admin and communication skills, an attention to detail and a genuine passion for Pacific art and artists.


    As an integral member of our small team, the Arts Administrator role is varied, with daily tasks ranging from maintaining databases, reporting and bookkeeping, to working with artists and furthering our various programs.


    The Tautai Arts Administrator will:


    – Act as the first point of contact for artists, patrons, stakeholders etc.


    – Be responsible for the administration and day-to-day running of the Tautai office. 


    – Work closely with the Tautai Manager and Program Leader to provide direct support in the effective delivery of Tautai objectives. 


    – Support artists in the development of their art practice.


    – Play an important role in meeting and communicating with artists of all ages and stages.


    – Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills and liaise with artists, Tautai staff and Tautai stakeholders to effectively implement programs, events and activities.


    – Demonstrate an attention to detail and be thorough in the filing and recording of information.


    – Have an excellent working knowledge in MS Office (especially MS Word and MS Excel). 


    – Be confident in their ability to complete general clerical and financial administration tasks to support the office and accounting team.


     – Hold a current New Zealand driver’s license and have access to a vehicle.


    – Have an understanding and knowledge of the arts industry in Aotearoa generally and in Pacific art and artists particularly. 


    – Have the ability to multi-task and meet changing deadlines.


    – Demonstrate an understanding of Pacific culture and attitudes.


    – Be willing to be an enthusiastic advocate for Pacific art and artists.
