Pacific artists from throughout New Zealand will gather in Wellington to help shape their future at the Creative New Zealand Pacific Arts Summit 2018.
Contemporary and heritage artists working in visual arts, craft, performing arts, literature, film, television, and music will gather to share their skills, experiences and views on how to best support and develop their practice.
“Having such a broad range of Pacific artists in one place is an opportunity for the sector to build on its success over the last decade and plan for the future,†said Arts Council member Luamanuvao Winnie Laban.
Held at Te Papa on 15-16 March, the summit will help Creative New Zealand improve its understanding of the current historical context of Pacific peoples, artists and audiences in New Zealand and in the wider Pacific region.
