  • Lana Lopesi | New Curatorial Assistant

ST PAUL St Galllery has announced that our very own Lana Lopesi has been appointed as their new Curatorial Assistant. Lana is a multidisciplinary artist and writer based in Auckland, New Zealand with an interest in social practice and print media. Lana’s work often explores issues for diaspora and indigenous communities with an interest in the cultural exchange that occurs via migration. Lana’s writing has featured in publications in print and online including Art New Zealand. She is a regular contributor to Pantograph Punch and E-Tangata. Lana is also the co-founder and editor of #500words. She is currently on an Asia New Zealand Foundation residency at Taipei Artist Village, Taipei, Taiwan.

Lana says, “I’ve always admired ST PAUL St Gallery for its programming including the symposia that allows it to seamlessly move between international and local contemporary arts communities. As a gallery within a university it remains critical while also engaging with current issues and topics. I am really excited to be working at ST PAUL St Gallery, and look forward to contributing to the culture of the space.”

We would like to congratulate Lana on her appointment to ST PAUL St and AUT. She starts on 11 July.
