Lonnie Hutchinson
Chair of the Tautai Board
Acknowledging and informed by the rich cultural resources of her Polynesian heritage (NgÄi Tahu, NgÄti Kuri ki
NgÄi Tahu, NgÄti Hamo), Lonnie Hutchinson is a multi media and installation artist who exhibits regularly in New Zealand and Australia. Lonnie has taught Art and Art History and Theory, in various Colleges and Universities in New Zealand and Australia and has had management roles for various arts organisations. In 2000 Hutchinson was the first woman recipient of the Macmillan Brown Centre for Pacific Studies residency at the University of Canterbury, and was also a recipient of the first International Indigenous Art residency at the Banff Art Centre, in Alberta, Canada in 2003. Public commissions include Pikihuia i te ao, i te pÅ, and Kahu Matarau 2 large scale integrations into the exterior of the Christchurch Justice and Emergency Services Precinct, 2017. ‘Aroha Atu, Aroha Mai, a neon art work in Manukau City, 2015. ‘Honoa ki te Hono Tawhiti’ 12 permanent wall works for the re-build of the Auckland Art Gallery 2011. Lonnie’s work can be found in The Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tamaki, The Christchurch Art Gallery Te Puna O Waiwhetu, the Hocken Library Dunedin, the Queensland Art Gallery, the National Gallery of Australia, The Chartwell Collection and in private collections throughout New Zealand and abroad. Lonnie is currently Chair Person of Paemanu: NgÄi Tahu Contemporary Visual Culture and Chair Person (interim) for Tautai Contemporary Pacific Arts Trust.

John Gandy

John graduated from the University of Auckland with degrees in Law and Commerce and was admitted to the bar
in 2009. Having commenced practice with the firm in 2010 John oversees the firm’s litigation and disputes resolution matters. John specialises in Trust, Estate and Relationship Property matters and regularly appears in the Family Court, District and High Courts and the Employment Relations Authority. He is an approved Legal Aid lawyer with experience in a wide range of civil and family litigation matters. John is on the executive committee of the Pacific Lawyers Association. Outside of the firm John is a keen musician and basketball tragic.

She specialises in working within museums and higher education institutions as an artist, performer, curator, guest speaker, poet and workshop leader. Raymond was awarded the CNZ Pacific Senior Artist for 2018 acknowledging her contribution to the arts.
