Men are from Maama, Women are from Pulotu

Ane Tonga’s exhibition Men are from Maama, Women are from Pulotu examines nifo koula (gold teeth) as a cultural phenomenon. The show includes the photographic series Grills, which features women with nifo koula who live in New Zealand, alongside FakaÄ“tangata, a new brother series portraying a Tongan male with nifo koula who lives in the Kingdom of Tonga.
