  • Ngā Mahi Tuku Iho (Skills From Our Ancestors)

Ngā Mahi Tuku Iho (Skills From Our Ancestors) is a tribute by Tanya Edwards to her Māori and Tongan ancestors. By creating fine cloaks made from a blend of ngatu and muka, Tanya embraces the traditional artform of her ancestors and pays homage to the wonderful histories recorded in the ngatu pieces gifted to her father’s family over generations.

The exhibition is an account of the last seventeen years she spent living in Tonga and her aroha for Aotearoa and her Māori heritage.
