The JAFA Poetry Slam Presents Grace Taylor

OPEN SLAM: Sign up on the night! Must be 18 years or older to compete. Top slammers qualify for the Auckland regional’s to win a chance to represent Auckland at the 2016 National Slam Finals. There will be a short open mic before the slam.

Grace Taylor is a mother/poet/performer birthed in Auckland and belonging to Oceania. Co-founder of the RISING VOICES YOUTH POETRY MOVEMENT, published her first collection AFAKASI SPEAKS in 2013 and writer and performer of poetic theatre show MY OWN DARLING. Winner of the Creative NZ Emerging Pacific Artist Award 2014 and the Auckland Mayoral Writers Grant 2016.

The JAFA Poetry Slam Presents Grace Taylor is in conjunction with Merge Cafe and Lifewise.
