Secondary schools in a selected region are asked to identify and nominate students to take part in a Fresh Horizons workshop. Tautai then arranges all requirements for attendance including transport, catering and the provision of all necessary art materials. Tertiary institutions are regular and supportive hosts for the workshops. The workshops also provide short term employment opportunities for the growing pool of experienced artist and tutors. We are now also engaging senior Pacific students from the host institution to assist them. Due to their success, it is now an objective of Tautai to expand the number of Fresh Horizon Workshops held each year. If you are a teacher or a tutor and would be interested in a Fresh Horizon workshop in your area, please contact us >
Tautai aims to provide Pacific artists with the necessary tools to help them develop their art practices and thrive as individuals in their communities. To achieve this, we offer both new and established artists opportunities to come together through a range of activities, including mentoring, professional development, exhibition projects, workshops and social gatherings.
READ MORE >Tautai is committed to encouraging Pacific students studying art at Tertiary institutions. In Auckland and Wellington, Tautai engage senior students to act as liaisons between Tautai and Pacific art students. We also run an annual Tertiary Art Road trip, which introduces students to the work of other artists in New Zealand. Tautai’s Tertiary Art Exhibition provides emerging artists the opportunity to present their work in a public forum.
